So now that Wren has hit the 8 month mark, we’ve decided to start trying meat. I was interested at how she would react, and she did not disappoint!
The first time, we tried turkey. I made and froze the turkey myself months ago, using our Thanksgiving leftovers. This was the result:

She made the most horrible faces, gagged, and eventually spit it all up.
You would have thought I was forcing her to eat mushed-up bugs.
She has this THING with textures. Even cereal was difficult for her at first. So, because turkey has a bit of a texture to it, I decided to try chicken. I blended some chicken up really fine, along with some potatoes. Because it was very smooth, I thought I would have better luck.
While she was able to get a few spoonfuls down, she still reacted much the same - short of throwing anything up.
I thought she was dramatic when she tried a new vegetable, but whoa! Meat is a whole different story!
So, we haven’t been so successful with meat lately, but we’ll keep trying. We’re in no hurry.
At least she liked the pears and spinach I made her today!
