9 Months

Wren,

I can’t believe you are 9 MONTHS OLD.

The past 9 months of my life have been amazing. I LOVE being a mom - I love being YOUR mom. And truthfully, you make it pretty easy on your dad and me.

I can’t believe that we’re at the point where I need to start planning your first birthday party. CRAZY.

Things you like:

  • Hanging out with mom and dad (yay!)
  • Your thumb
  • Pickles
  • The dog
  • Rides in your little car/stroller
  • Any cords you can pull
  • Puffs
  • Feeding yourself
  • Riding in carts while we’re shopping

You are crawling EVERYWHERE. You love being mobile and exploring your world. You crawl to the kitchen and slap the bare floor, because you love the sound it makes. You’re pretty accepting of grass (as you can see in these pictures), but you’re still a little wary of it.

Even though you’re pretty mobile, crawling isn’t good enough for you. You want to be standing all the time. You love holding onto things and standing up, although your a little unsteady at times. It seems like you’re so anxious to grow up.

Last night it hit me pretty hard that you were going to be 9 months old today. It shocked me into realizing that I need to start planning your birthday party NOW. I always felt like I had all this time, but I realized last night that it’s right around the corner. Only 3 months until you’re one year old. I stayed up a little too late last night trying to plan out all the things I need to do and buy and make for your party. I had this false sense of urgency about it. I think due to the fact that I’m both happy and a little weepy that you’re growing up so fast. It’s a hard combination of emotions to deal with.

I would never wish to go back in time.  I just wish sometimes that the weeks and months went a little slower.

Now that you’re 9 months old, there’s one other big change happening - you finally have your first tooth! Your bottom front teeth are starting to poke through, and you love using your tongue to play around with the new additions. And you’re taking teething like a champ so far! You’re sleeping well, and you’re still your happy self, aside from small whiny bouts. As soon as mommy or daddy slather some Orajel on your gums, you’re good to go!

I can’t wait to see what adventures the next month brings. And daddy and I can’t wait to expose you to new, fun activities as the weather continues to warm up.

We love you little sunshine, and we love watching you grow!
